From May through September, Director Park welcomed thousands of visitors for our Summer in the City programming over the summer. Our standalone signature events and weekly programming drew newcomers and regulars alike to Director Park throughout the summer. Here are some of our favorite events of the summer:
- Ducky Drop
Thousands of rubber duckies rained down into Teachers Fountain. Families in attendance watched the drop, and kids collected ducks and played in the splash pad. - Piano Push Play Kickoff Concert
At their kickoff concert in Director Park, Piano Push Play unveiled ten new artist-designed pianos, and local musicians performed alongside audience members. - Tango Night in the Park
Every Monday night, beginners and experts alike gathered to dance the tango in the summer sunshine at Director Park. - Beautiful Street Festival
A weekend of dance, art, and music filled the park, celebrating street and club dance culture and uniting the Portland community.
