A brand new park coming soon to downtown
Downtown Portland Clean & Safe and the Visit Downtown Campaign are thrilled to welcome community events and exciting activations to Darcelle XV Plaza when it opens. We will manage and activate the new park in partnership with Portland Parks & Recreation.
Located at SW Park Avenue and Washington Street, this new plaza honors the late Walter Cole and the legacy of the Darcelle XV Showplace, the longest-running drag cabaret on the West Coast.
Through a multi-year agreement with Portland Parks & Recreation, we’re committed to programming events and maintaining the space to create a dynamic environment that reflects the LGBTQ+ community’s contributions and fosters inclusivity in the heart of downtown. Like Director Park, Darcelle XV Plaza will host performances, art installations, festivals, and community gatherings year-round.
As the plaza begins to take shape, community programming and input will help inform the final design of this exciting addition to downtown Portland. Event schedules and booking information will be available closer to the opening date.
