On July 23, Downtown Portland Clean & Safe hosted our annual Appreciation Lunch to honor the outstanding employees and partners who serve our downtown community. Awards were given in recognition of the Cleaners of the Year and Public Safety Coordinators of the Year, in addition to the Commissioner Nick Fish Community Champion Award for outstanding commitment to vibrancy and resiliency in downtown. Thank you to Mayor Wheeler, Commissioner Gonzalez, Dr. Andy Mendenhall of Central City Concern, and Vanessa Sturgeon of TMT Development for joining us to honor those who have gone the extra mile for the downtown Portland community.
Cleaner of the Year Honorees
Cleaners Damien Lovan and James Woodard were granted the Cleaner of the Year award for their remarkable commitment to enhancing and reforming our city’s livability through their work.
Public Safety Coordinator of the Year Honorees
Aurelio Torres and Stephen Siu were presented with the Public Safety Coordinator of the Year award for their dedication to creating a safe and inviting environment throughout our city.
Community Champion Honoree
Alisha Sullivan and the Willamette Light Brigade were presented with the Commissioner Nick Fish Community Champion Award in recognition of their commitment to the vitality and strength of downtown through illumination and activation.
Proclamations were also presented to the Portland City Council for their continued partnership with Downtown Portland Clean & Safe and commitment to downtown Portland. Thank you, Mayor Ted Wheeler, Commissioner Rene Gonzalez, Commissioner Dan Ryan, Commissioner Carmen Rubio, and Commissioner Mingus Mapps, for supporting our Central City.
