Monday: Tango Night

Every other Monday, 6-8 PM, June 8-September 28.

Tango Nights are back at Director Park every other week. Alex has been dancing Argentine Tango since 1997 and teaching worldwide since 1998, including performances in Buenos Aires. We’ll have live music on June 8th and August 31st, right at 7 p.m.

Wednesday: Clay Commons Ceramic Market

Wednesdays, 11-3 PM, June 3-September 9.

Weekly markets in partnership with Downtown Portland Clean & Safe, Oregon Potters Association and Shemanski Farmers Market will feature up to 25 local ceramic artists, studios and independent makers. 

On the last Wednesday of each month — June 24, July 29 and Aug. 26 — the event will expand into the Guild’s Bazaar, an all-makers market open to a broader range of craft mediums including glass, wood, metal, textiles and candles.

Friday: Picnic in the Park

Fridays, 12-2 PM, June 12-September 25.

Lunch just got an upgrade. Kick back at the picnic tables, and soak in those easygoing, family BBQ feels right in the heart of downtown with lawn games, sidewalk chalk, and the beloved Teachers Fountain.

Sunday: Checkmates and Chill: Jazz with Curbside Serenade

Sundays, 12-3 PM, June 14-September 27.

Join a lively game of chess and put your skills to the test. An instructor will be on hand to guide beginners, while experienced players can jump right in. While you play, enjoy live performances by Curbside Serendade, who’ll fill the space with smooth, soulful jazz.

Wednesday: Summer Sounds Live Performances

Wednesdays, 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM, July 1-August 26.

Come enjoy a relaxed summer lunch with live music. Throughout the summer, a variety of live performances will be taking place each Wednesday. Whether you’re craving something upbeat or a chill, laid-back vibe, there’ll be something new to discover each week.

Thursday: Happy Hour Drag Delights

Thursdays, 6-8 PM, July 14-August 30.

Come enjoy happy hour at the Plaza this summer. Sip on expertly crafted cocktails with a local vendor and savor a variety of delicious local eats from The Flock. Then settle in for the most dazzling performances in downtown, featuring some of Portland’s most fabulous queens.

Friday Night Flicks

Fridays, July 10, August 14, and September 18, 9-11:30 PM.

Grab your blankets, lawn chairs, and favorite movie snacks for an evening under the stars! Join friends, family, and neighbors for a relaxing night with a featured film everyone can enjoy. Movies start when the sun sets. Movie selections coming soon!

Last Fridays: Shakespeare Unbuttoned

Fridays, June 26, July 31, August 28, 6-7:30 PM.

Shakespeare: Unbuttoned explores how William Shakespeare played with identity, gender, and transformation. Each 75–90 minute evening features a live scene, an interactive workshop or conversation, and a repeat performance that invites audiences to experience the work through a new lens.

Sunday: Drag Story Time

Sundays, 11 AM – 12 PM, June 14-August 30.

A fabulous guest drag queen will lead families through three storybook readings, two dazzling performances, and a sing-along, all wrapped up with an open Q&A before you say goodbye. This is a welcoming, joyful, free experience for kids and grown-ups alike.

Starry Night Wine & Beverage Walk

Thursday, June 4, 5-8 PM.

Taste incredible beverages, meet and great local winemakers, and explore downtown Portland stores and restaurants—all while enjoying the beautiful floral installations of this year’s Bloom Tour!

A-WOL Open Air Performance

Saturday, June 6, 2-5 PM.

Join The Aeros and FlyCo for their annual free Open Air performances at Director Park! Two shows starting at 2pm and 4pm, starting with the youth company (Aeros) followed by the adult training company (FlyCo).

Piano Push Play Kickoff

Friday, July 10, 8 AM – 9 PM.

Piano Push Play is back for the summer at Director Park! Join us for the kickoff event where 5 pianos will be brought to the park with live performances and audience draws.

Say “I Do” at Darcelle XV Plaza this summer. This is a one-of-a-kind wedding celebration, and you’re invited. Vow renewals, symbolic ceremonies, and legal weddings are all welcome. Poison Waters will officiate. Expect a joyful, silly vibe with music, and of course, a dance party.
