Mass Transit

TriMet provides bus, light rail, and commuter rail service in the Portland, Oregon, region. Their transportation options connect people with their community, while easing traffic congestion and reducing air pollution — making our region a better place to live.

Rent a Bike

BIKETOWN is Portland’s first micromobility system, with more than 3,000 ebikes and scooters available at over 240 stations across Portland’s neighborhoods. Meet the fleet, get trip tips, and do the city right. It’s as easy as picking out a bike or scooter and using the BIKETOWN or Lyft apps to scan its QR code. Locate bikes and scooters using the BIKETOWN map.

Public Parking

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) manages most parking on public streets in the city as well as the downtown SmartPark garages. View the City of Portland’s parking map for information about street parking, downtown parking garages, event parking, and more.

Pay-to-park hours for street parking downtown are as follows:

  • 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday through Saturday
  • 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday

Over 180 businesses in Downtown Portland offer their customers discounted or free parking at SmartPark garages. If you’re headed downtown to visit a participating Portland business, you can save on parking at all of the SmartPark public parking garages. Learn more about SmartPark’s validation program.
