Downtown Portland Clean & Safe, in partnership with the Portland Metro Chamber, is excited to announce an open call for participants for the 2024 PDX Pop-Up Shop Program! This year, we’re looking to elevate the program and are searching for businesses that can help make this year’s event even more impactful.
Artisans and Small Business Owners
The PDX Pop-Up Shop program has been a beloved tradition in Portland, connecting local talent and small businesses with temporary retail spaces in the Central Downtown and Old Town areas. These pop-up shops will be open for approximately eight weeks during the holiday season, with mentoring and support provided ahead of time.
The program aims to:
- Support local, minority-owned, and LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs by giving them the chance to test and refine their products in free or low-cost retail spaces.
- Attract potential future independent retailers to the area.
- Bring new life to vacant storefronts, enhancing the vibrancy of downtown Portland.
- Highlight retail leasing opportunities in the city.
Benefits for Participants
Selected participants will receive:
- Retail space and utilities at no cost for the duration of the program.
- Comprehensive marketing support to help promote their business.
Participants must provide proof of liability insurance, a federal tax ID, and a City of Portland Business License.
Important Dates and Details
Pop-Up shops are typically open Wednesday–Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with adjusted hours on Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hours may vary depending on the location and business model. Pop-Up shops will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
