Commending the Remarkable Achievements of Local Champions

Downtown Portland Clean & Safe honors outstanding team members and community champions in a heartwarming ceremony.

Downtown Portland Clean & Safe would be nothing without the amazing team of cleaners, public safety coordinators, and business leaders that are dedicated to the vitality of our central city. On July 26, we were joined by Commissioner Dan Ryan, Dr. Andy Mendenhall of Central City Concern, and our Vice Chair, Tessa Peterson, to honor those who have gone the extra mile for our downtown community.

Cleaners Alexander Krsek and Larry Hall were granted the Cleaner of the Year award for their outstanding commitment to enhancing and reforming our city’s livability. Kirsten Hansen and Duck DeHaven were presented with the Public Safety Coordinator of the Year award for their dedication to creating a safe and inviting environment throughout our city.

Jim Mark, a Portland Clean & Safe board member, was presented with the Commissioner Nick Fish Downtown Champion Award in recognition of his commitment to the vibrancy and resiliency of our community.

Proclamations were also presented to some of the outstanding individuals that make Downtown Portland Clean & Safe’s work possible: Jessica Curtis of Brookfield Properties, Laura Brown of Central City Concern, Al Niknabard of Parking NW, Anne Hill of the City of Portland, and Downtown Development Group.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to these remarkable individuals who make Downtown Portland Clean & Safe thrive and flourish, ensuring a vibrant and resilient community for all.
